When co-owner Emily Peterson reached out to me about some marketing photos, I was over the moon. This was arguably the biggest opportunity I’d been offered. Ecstatic, I jumped at it! I was so nervous in the days leading up to it. I had just transitioned to an LLC, was in constant pursuit of educating myself and seizing opportunities, and really just wanted to provide a high-quality experience and overdeliver on these images. Knowing that success loves preparation, I built a shot list, gathered some reference images, and knew I'd ultimately have to go with the flow and trust my gut. I listened to several Make Your Break podcast episodes on the drive there, which never fail to pump me up!
I was there for nearly seven hours and can’t believe how fast they went! The place has a phenomenal team. A network of people absolutely hustling and helping each other like clockwork - super energetic and happy to be there. It was such an honor to get to know everyone and witness a little bit of this farm-to-table brewing process. Let me tell you, these people know their shit. I did a little research on the business ahead of time and read their philosophy on the business's website. When I talked with Tim, the head Brewer, I could easily tell he was in his element. His whole team is so passionate about the quality of their work. In fact, a passion similar to that could be found in all of the staff members. In their tagline slogan, they mention an uncompromising devotion to quality, the best ingredients, and the art of brewing. I couldn’t agree more. That intention is evident in every aspect of this business.
While I was working, three gentlemen sharing a table noticed me buzzing around, only to flag me down and ask what I was up to. Their predictions were right, photos for marketing and website updates. Turns out, these cheerful guys were actually the architects who designed and built the very building we were in! I was pretty astonished because the building's massive size and modern flare could leave any non-architect awestruck. I can’t imagine the feat it must’ve been. They asked if I’d take a photo of them together and email it to them, which I did of course. later in the evening, I found them outside on the patio playing corn hole. Got a few funny action shots of them there too. It was such a great experience. By the time I left the rush had died down and I had almost 4000 photos. I thanked Travis, the owner, and Max, one of the managers, and was out of there. I was on cloud nine the whole way home. I’m so grateful for clients who let me into the spaces they’ve built and allow me to document their livelihoods and dreams coming to fruition. It's an important thing to trust people with and I’m always blown away when they choose me.
